Joyce Schleiniger was born in the south of Brazil and has developed a consistent body of work in Fine Arts, particularly in Sculpture. She has received many international awards and participated in numerous collective and individual exhibitions in sculpture, drawing, and painting. In 2015 she was honored with a solo exhibit with the Ruben Berta Museum in Porto Alegra, Brazil. She also displays permanent public art such as The Woman at the Lake housed at the Japan Plaza in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and a mural made by commission to the Naval Hospital in Oceanside, California, and most recently a mural commissioned by the city of Encinitas to create 2 murals for the "Encinitas Upclose Project", to be located at the Santa Fe Drive freeway underpass (summer 2019). 

Joyce holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sculpture,  Postgraduate Certificates in Sculpture, Painting and Ceramics, and a Master’s Degree in Education with a thesis entitled “The Development of Visual Perception.” Joyce was a tenured professor of Visual Arts at several universities in Southern Brazil for over 20 years.

Joyce came to the U.S. in 1985. She opened her own Atelier/Gallery and since showcases her work in sculpture, ceramics, and industrial design. She also offers multiple-level courses, provides kiln-firing services, art restoration, and consulting to the community.
